General Purpose of the Job Senior Designers are responsible for developing design solutions to meet customer component and assembly requirements. This activity includes problem solving with support from the Engineer, and working with cross-functional teams for issue resolution. To successfully perform this job, a understanding of complicated design concepts is necessary, as well as the ability to make decisions based on general Vehicle Development design practices and procedures. Proficiency in CAD Tools and the ability to understand and follow Standard Modeling Methods is essential to this position. The ability to interface with the customer and provide solutions to issues is an essential capability of this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Proficient in design methods and procedures based on common modeling process. Thorough knowledge of automotive components and subsystems. Ability to design new components and assemblies via CAD. Ability to make design changes to existing parts via CAD. A thorough understanding of GD&T and how to apply from component to assembly. Duties will include tracking & managing electronic data using customer database(s). Senior Designers are responsible for releasing components & assemblies using customer software.
