The JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa located at 5350 E. Marriott Drive, Phoenix, AZ, 85054 is currently hiring a Horticulturist.

Responsibilities include: Monitor property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance. Maintain the appearance of fountains, planters, or other grounds features by cleaning, replacing or making repairs. Install new flowers and plants. Maintain room balcony and all interior plant containers, baskets, and boxes by watering, removing weeds, trimming, and performing other maintenance. Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems. Perform pre-operation equipment safety check when using any mower or other equipment. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report defective equipment, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; protect company assets. Support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Basic Qualifications:

• Knowledge of products and brands in order to engage and meet the needs of the customer.
• Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships within a team.
• Basic level PC/tablet skills.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Any required licensing required by state or local authorities to engage in selling of beauty products.
• Licensure in Cosmetology or as an Esthetician as granted by appropriate state licensing authority.
• Experience demonstrating makeup application and providing makeovers to customers.
• Experiencing selling Prestige brands.
• Degree from Beauty School.
• Experience with another retailer in the form of an Externship.
